Petrochemical Organisation Carpark & Waste Management Works

ParkLaine partnered with a Private Global Petrochemical Organisation to deliver a comprehensive redevelopment of the MH Test Car Park Area at the Milton Hill Business & Technology Centre. The project involved transforming underutilised external areas into organised, secure, and future-ready operational zones to support the client’s growing storage, logistics, and facilities requirements.

The project included demolition and relocation of existing structures, creation of new hard standing storage compounds, installation of security fencing, lighting infrastructure, pedestrian walkways, drainage improvements, utility upgrades, and specialist storage facilities. Additional enhancement works were also delivered to improve accessibility, safety, and long-term operational flexibility across the site.

Working within a live operational environment, ParkLaine successfully coordinated all phases of the project while maintaining strict health & safety standards and minimising disruption to ongoing operations.

Project overview

Project Type:

External Works, Infrastructure Upgrades & Operational Storage Redevelopment

Client Requirements:

Dedicated hard & soft standing storage compounds, Modular building relocation, Waste management areas, Gas cage storage, Landscaping storage facilities, Upgraded pedestrian and vehicle segregation, Security fencing, External lighting upgrades, Utility infrastructure improvements, Drainage modifications, Future-proofed service provisions for operational expansion

Client Timeframe:

12 Weeks

Area:

The Brief

The client required a complete reconfiguration of the MH Test Car Park Area to create a safer, more efficient, and scalable external storage and operational environment. The brief called for multiple dedicated storage zones for containers, gas cages, waste management, pallet storage, and landscaping equipment, alongside improved vehicle circulation and pedestrian segregation throughout the site.

The project also required the removal, relocation, and recommissioning of several modular buildings and storage facilities, as well as significant infrastructure upgrades including new electrical, mechanical, lighting, and data services. Additional requirements included enhanced site security through perimeter fencing and controlled access points, upgraded external lighting, improved drainage solutions, and future-proofed utility provisions to accommodate potential expansion requirements.

As the project evolved, further enhancement works were introduced to improve operational access, lighting coverage, pedestrian connectivity, and infrastructure flexibility, ensuring the site remained adaptable for future operational needs.

The Solution

ParkLaine delivered a turnkey external works and infrastructure solution, transforming the MH Test Car Park Area into a highly functional, organised, and future-ready operational facility.

The works included the demolition and removal of outdated buildings and infrastructure, relocation of modular units, extension of concrete hard standing areas, installation of new pedestrian walkways, line marking, pedestrian barriers, and thermoplastic safety zoning throughout the site.

New Green V Mesh security fencing and controlled access gates were installed around the perimeter to enhance site security, while new LED street lighting columns with integrated photocells significantly improved visibility and safety across the compound. Dedicated storage zones were created for containers, gas cages, pallet storage, waste management, and landscaping operations, ensuring efficient segregation of operational activities.

Specialist infrastructure upgrades included new electrical, lighting, fire detection, mechanical, fibre, and data services, alongside ducting provisions for future utilities and services expansion. ParkLaine also delivered a new modular steel-clad garage building to accommodate landscaping equipment storage.

Additional enhancement works included upgraded lighting to storage zones, new pedestrian access gates, drop kerbs for vehicle access, relocation of containers, landscaping adjustments, and future-proofed service duct installations to support long-term operational flexibility.

Despite the complexity of coordinating multiple workstreams within a live operational environment, ParkLaine successfully delivered the project safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, providing the client with a secure, scalable, and operationally efficient external facility designed to support future growth and evolving site requirements.
